As a specialist in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis genetics, Edor Kabashi, leader of the team “Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis treatment : from genetics to zebrafish “, is the winner of an ERC Consolidator Grant.
ERC Grants aim to support talented researchers with ambitious and innovative scientific projects.
Edor Kabashi’s project objective is to elucidate the function of the major genes involved in ALS and to study neurodegenerative processes, developing zebrafish experimental models with the same genetic mutations as patients with ALS.

These genetic models will be used to study multigene interactions and identify new therapeutic leads to treat ALS, but also related neurodegenerative diseases. This project aims at accelerating the transformation of discoveries into therapeutic solutions for patients.
The team’s hope would be to identify new molecules to fight ALS.
