The Carnot Institutes are public research structures that are committed to developing re-search partnerships for the benefit of corporate innovation from small businesses to large companies as well as socio-economic players.
A CLEAR OBJECTIVE
Increase the economic impact of R&D actions led by laboratories of the Carnot Institutes in partnership with businesses in terms of creating jobs, national turnover, and thus competitiveness.
A RECOGNIZED SYSTEM FOR COMPANY INNOVATION
The 27,000 research professionals in the Carnot Institutes, who represent 15% of the public research work force, account for more than half of external R&D contracts redistributed by companies to public research.

The Carnot Institutes offer a large spectrum of capabilities, providing the ability to respond to the R&I needs of companies in most economic sectors. In order to take advantage of the their complementarity and synergies for the benefit of their business partners, the insti-tutes are organized in an operational network facilitated by AiCarnot.

The Carnot Institutes are based on a continuous improvement of the professionalism of their partnership relationship, from making contact to providing deliverables and collect-ing satisfaction surveys, through negotiation phases and setting up projects.
THE Institut du Cerveau – ICM CARNOT INSTITUTE
The Institut du Cerveau – ICM is one of five Carnot Institutes dedicated entirely to human health. It participates in the project Global Care, which is concerned with international development of the part-nership research of the institutes and coordinates FINDMED, a project of the national net-work to support development of new innovative medications.
