Developing innovative solutions for patients is at the heart of our mission, and the Institut du Cerveau – ICM brings together more than 700 world-renowned researchers to nurture strong neuroscience research, rooted in the largest French neurology community. With nearly 100,000 patients visiting Pitié Salpêtrière Hospital each year, our institute is located at the center of a pole where diseases are observed and managed. To fully understand the disease, the same clinicians in contact with patients during their exercise are involved in clinical and preclinical research at the Institut du Cerveau – ICM – working to understand normal and pathological brain states.
But all this is not enough: to make a real difference, research collaborations with brilliant minds around the world are essential to us. This is true for our international academic network, reflected by the great diversity of nationalities represented among our researchers and students, but also for our living interactions with researchers from the private sector, ranging from molecular diagnostics to digital health. That is why the Institut du Cerveau – ICM decided, right from the design of the building, to include within itself a startup incubator, a clinical investigation center and platforms of high technological standard, to create an effective ecosystem for the emergence of new diagnoses and new therapies.
The Institut du Cerveau – ICM is labeled Institut Carnot, all these actions are carried out in a process of continuous improvement to conduct research projects with professionalism corresponding to the expectations of companies and socio-economic partners.
