I'm currently a PhD candidate at the ED3C, Sorbonne Université. I have a BSc in Biochemistry from Facultad de Ciencias, UdelaR and a MSc in Neuroscience from PEDECIBA, UdelaR (Uruguay). I have always worked with electrophysiological data, from animal cellular in-vitro recordings to human electroencephalography, and during my training I become increasingly interested in applying this knowledge to the study of higher order cognitive functions. I am especially drawn to the phenomenon of consciousness from both a philosophical and scientific perspective. My PhD project, carried under Dr. Sitt supervision, is centered on consciousness from a scientific point of view, trying to develop new electrophysiological markers to detect conscious responses in patients with disorders of consciousness.
