From 31st august to 4th September 2015, IHU-A-Institut du Cerveau – ICM and Collège des Ingénieurs organize the Brain to Market Summer School, that will host 20 scientists and engineers.

This program aim to improve students skills both in Neuroscience and entrepreneurship, this year on the subject of Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

The Brain to Market summer school want to be a transformational experience that will leave participants with a new mind-set and the skills needed to innovate and make a real difference for patient, research and health care systems.

In a boot-camp format, the participants will learn about a specific topic each year, the art of idea creation, the basis of entrepreneurship, and business plan development including project management.

The first two days, the topic will be introduced through lectures about MS, with several points of view of experts (researcher, clinician, patient…). Companies like Genzyme, Air Liquide, Sanofi and start-ups of the Health and Wellbeing Business Community will provide several examples.

Throughout three days the participants will work in teams of three to four students on projects, while a coach will work with participants to help them pitch their ideas. The participants’ projects will be presented to and reviewed by a panel of experts.

Working in multidisciplinary team, the emphasis is on the ability to develop a value proposition and improve your knowledge transferable from research to business and vice versa.

The Brain to Market Summer School is organized by IHU-A-Institut du Cerveau – ICM and Collège des ingénieurs, and hosted by the Institut du Cerveau – ICM.
