BRAiN’US was born at the Brain and Spine Institute – Institut du Cerveau – ICM. This mobile phone application, piloted by Jean Daunizeau, Inserm researcher and co-director of the team “Motivation, Brain, Behaviour” at the Institut du Cerveau – ICM, aims at collecting information on the way the brain functions.

The know-how of AdScientiam, a start-up specialized in e-health incubated in the Institut du Cerveau – ICM, has enabled the company and the researchers to develop an ambitious project of participative science.

Data obtained in normal subjects is necessary to understand and better treat brain functions (memory, attention, intuition, etc…) altered in patients (anxiety, depression, schizophrenia…).

By playing, in complete confidentiality, with the application BRAiN’US you contribute to a unique scientific experiment. BRAiN’US contains 8 amusing tests, conceived in the form of games to elucidate the way in which the brain makes decisions. The behaviour of each player is then analysed with that of the other participants using mathematical models. The larger the community of players, the better the researchers can determine the elementary mental mechanisms that determine the behaviour.
